Adelle Spindlove

Hello and welcome to my page!

I am a writer and a mother, a mother and a writer, I fully believe in writing what you know so I often write about being a mother. I have two sons, my youngest, T, who is neurotypical and my eldest, R, who has a rare neuro-developmental syndrome called ADNP.

My children are my everything, they are also without a doubt the people who trigger me into being the best and worst versions of myself. We live together with their Papa/Dada in Portsmouth and we’ve been talking about getting a dog every weekend for the past year. One day we’ll do it, one day.

I blog, like a lot of SEN parents, which I love. Having a group of people on hand at all hours of the day, who truly understand the highs and lows of looking after a child who has additional needs has been a lifesaver and my ongoing personal therapy.

My most recent challenge and soon to be achievement is publishing my first book, the first of what I plan to be an 8 book series. You can read more about it under the Book Section but my hope is that my book(s) will spark conversations on disability and inclusion that will help break the disability taboo and give young readers practical advice on how to effectively include children, different to themselves.

As always, thanks for reading and for your ongoing support!

If you would like to read more of my work:

I am a contributor for The Mighty, a digital health community created to empower and connect people facing health challenges and disabilities.

I have also written for Friendili, the family health and disability network that helps you to find families with similar health conditions and disabilities.
